The Dish Network User's Resource
The Joey is the “client module” in Dish Network's Hopper whole-home DVR full-HD solution. Built with MoCA 1.0 technology, up to 3 Joey clients can each supply HD to an HDTV on a video network over the home's existing RG6 or RG59 coax. It can also be connected with only Ethernet after taking its first software update over coax. The Joey allows each additional TV to share the same features as the main Hopper unit with the same look with the exceptions of no PiP, no component output,
and no Bluetooth.
Availability / Upgrade Offers
- Developer EchoStar turned the “XiP110” over to Dish Network in Nov 2011 when beta software was added to the satellite stream. It is unknown when it will become available though it may initially be targeted to new installations. The monthly fee structure and eventual price for existing customer upgrades are also unknown.

- No OTA tuner but a USB tuner can be added to be shared with any of the XiP receivers on your network (future)

- Broadcom BCM7340 405MHz 1100 DMIPs processor with many functions handled in hardware (i.e. don't take up CPU cycles)
