Some tips I've discovered that make Transtar more powerful

In no particular order...

If you get a timeout message or other incorrect response, click "Back;" on your browser, then click on "Submit" again. It should respond rather quickly. Timeouts seem to occurs most often when using arrival selections.
It understands city names, not community names, so for instance the Lincoln and Washington Bls. in Venice is actually in Los Angeles.
Fare information isn't working correctly for fares other than regular; you will always get the regular fare if you request senior, disabled, etc.
If you want to get there as early as possible, check "Leaving as early as possible", then note the arrival time. Now check "Arriving at time" and resubmit. You will generally get a trip that allows you to leave later.
There is currently a nasty bug where the server appears to get confused when there are multiple named intersections or points of interest in different cities. It will think that, for example, you can get off the Simi Valley Transit B at Simi Valley's Arroyo Park and catch the Foothill Transit 192 at Pomona's Arroyo Park.

Other problem points are
- L.A. to Long Beach
- Long Beach to Laguna Beach
- the intersection of Venice and Lincoln Bls. in Venice (you can get around this one by specifying "Lincoln Bl and Venice Bl" and "Los Angeles")
Sometimes if you try reversing the streets ("Lincoln Bl and Venice Bl" instead of "Venice Bl and Lincoln Bl"), the correct itinerary may show up.
