- Features
- OTA digital guide data²
The data is mapped over from the Dish local channels, so if you are in a market that doesn't have Dish locals, you unfortunately won't have guide data.
- Local channel downmapping (Preferences, Enable Off-Air Antenna Locals)²
Takes your Dish local channels and remaps them from the 7000 or 8000 channel range down to the 1- or 2-digit channel numbers in your local market. Note, you can choose either to have your Dish locals downmapped (remove the check mark, i.e. disable - this means disable analog OTA locals which then down maps the satellite locals) OR choose to have analog OTA channels scanned in. Not both, as the channel numbers would conflict. The default is to have local channel downmapping turned on if you have no OTA analog
channels scanned.
- Teach IR feature (Menu-6-5)²
Teach your learning remote the IR codes from the 921, without having to use another Dish remote.
- Signal Strength meter added to the program banner for OTA digital channels²
- All digital OTA channels (6-1, 6-2, 6-3, etc) now appear on main EPG instead of a secondary level²
- Fixes
- The OTA system has been reworked so that most (if not all) of the PSIP generated problems should now be resolved.²
- When outputting 1080i, 720p source channels now display correctly in preview windows and in the transparent guide.²
- OTA locals can now be added to Favorites lists again, and this time they work!²
- Numerous timer fixes, recording fixes, aspect ratio fixes, preference fixes, etc. ²
- Blue Line bug (possibly).²
- Pressing STOP no longer will stop recordings in progress UNLESS you are watching the program being recorded LIVE.²
- Audio sync and delay resuming playback from a paused state has been fixed.²
- Flubs
- Bug: 4:3 programming stuck in stretch mode after changing to 16:9 ratio; format '*' button becomes unresponsive²³
Workaround: Reboot
Status: Unresolved
- Bug: If you have your local channels downmapped, and set a timer for a local digital channel, the red dot will incorrectly display on the analog downmapped channel, but the timer will record the digital channel.
- Bug: Remote control macro for discrete HD/SD switching no longer works²
Status: Resolved L274
- Design: According to Dish, you must be subscribed to your local channel package to receive the guide data for your OTA digital channels. Those in markets with multiple sub-channels that broadcast different programming on the sub-channels will only have the guide data for the primary channel. Those who subscribe to local channels in one DMA, but pull digital OTA channels from another DMA, will not receive guide data for the out-of-DMA channels.
